Downhill Skiing 

All of these great skiing areas are within 45 minutes of Cambridge.

  • Tyrol Basin   They also offer a great deal mid-week for beginners including a 2 hour lesson and equipment rental.

Cross Country Skiing 

Camrock County Park:  Access this the beautiful trail right from downtown Cambridge. Enjoy cross country skiiing and snow shoeing this trail.

Rental of fat tire bikes,  cross country skiis and snow shoes are available a Camrock Cafe & Sport, 217 W. Main.

Sledding & Ice Skating 

Cam-Rock III park offers a fantastically long sled run.  Perfect for the whole family.  The wooded setting is so peacefull!

West Side Park located on Route PQ just south of Route 12 is another nice spot for a short hill within walking distance of The Victorian. There is a warming house and ice skating also.  Skate rentals are available.

Ice Fishing 

Enjoy ice fishing on Lake Ripley by way of the beach at Lake Ripley Park off of Park Road or at the boat launch at the end of Island Lane. Check out the fishing huts and enjoy this fun sport, but watch your step.

Snowmobiling 

Cambridge is located in Jefferson & Dane Counties which have hundreds of  miles of country snowmobile trails and club trails.

The brave ones ride over frozen Lake Ripley, however, there are many trails in the area including the Glacial Drumlin trail which becomes a snowmobile trail in the winter. Rockdale Bar & Grill in Rockdale (Off of Route B two miles south of route 12) is a main snowmobilers hub.
